Requirements

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

A computer built to your content specifications is necessary for an optimal ScalableDesktop system. The following guidelines will be suitable for most installations. If you are building an exceptionally large or complex system please contact us for further recommendations.

  • Windows 11 (for Scalable 9.0 or newer)
  • Windows 10 64-bit (for Scalable 3.5 or newer)
  • 8GB of RAM minimum, 16 GB of RAM recommended
  • Intel Core i5 Processor or better
  • 25 GB of hard drive space available
  • A supported NVIDIA graphics card
  • A separate x16 PCI express slot for each NVIDIA graphics card (running at full x16 bandwith)
  • Powered EDID emulators
  • Quadro sync card if using multiple graphics cards (For systems with multiple NVIDIA graphics cards contact us for recommended workstation specifications)

*If you are using Logitech cameras and a laptop to calibrate your system, you can use up to 2 Logitech cameras. If your system requires more than 2 Logitech webcams, you will need a desktop computer with independent port USB or switch to an alternate camera such as the GigE.

How many projectors does ScalableDesktop support?
ScalableDesktop supports up to 16 projectors driven from a single PC. It is designed for flat and curved multi-projector displays where all outputs originate from one machine — no host/client architecture required.
Does ScalableDesktop work with any Windows application?
Yes. ScalableDesktop operates at the desktop level — it warps and blends the entire Windows display surface, so any application that runs on Windows automatically benefits from the calibration. No per-application integration or configuration is needed.
What screen geometries does ScalableDesktop support?
ScalableDesktop supports flat and curved screen geometries — including cylindrical and spherical curves. It is designed for horizontal multi-projector arrays typical in corporate, ProAV, and conference room installations. For dome or fully custom 3D surfaces, Scalable Display Manager or Scalable Atlas are the appropriate products.
Does ScalableDesktop require a separate calibration PC?
No. ScalableDesktop runs entirely on the display PC — there is no separate calibration host required. A webcam connected to the display PC is all that is needed to perform calibration. This is one of the key differences from Scalable Display Manager, which uses a dedicated calibration laptop.
Can ScalableDesktop recalibrate automatically?
Yes. ScalableDesktop supports scheduled recalibration — the system can be configured to recalibrate automatically at set intervals without any operator intervention. This ensures the display remains geometrically correct even as projectors drift due to temperature changes or lamp aging.
What graphics cards does ScalableDesktop support?
